Heatwave is a talent development program by IsBurning for emerging creatives aged 18–27 in Amsterdam’s region. It offers four programs that support talent with mentorship, visibility, and real opportunities.

Heatwave is created by IsBurning, an LGBTQ+–led platform founded in 2014.

Heatwave is supported by AFK (Amsterdam Fund for the Arts) -Nightculture Project- which is focused on anyone aged between 18 and 27, lliving in Amsterdam, from any background, identity, or discipline. 

Heatwave is focused on the age range 18 and 27. There are limited spots for each program. There might be a few spots open for talents over 27. Only if not all positions are filled.

Yes, but you will only be selected for one. You will have to do them separately, we will look at the best fit individually and we won’t prioritize anyone with more submissions to more projects. We take it as the project and if we think it stands out of the others in that category

Based on motivation, potential, work, originality, story and openness to learn.

The team of IsBurning and experts dedicated to each programs, the mentors and other experts from our partners. 

You will hear back from us. latest two weeks after the closing date if the application.

In Amsterdam - at studios, venues and partner locations.

You are expected to commit, but we understand work/study realities, however this might have consequences in finishing the program and potentially having to find another candidate if it’s not possible to reschedule certain essential parts of the program. 

Showcases, mixes, releases, mentorship, partner introductions, future bookings, and potential international exchanges.

Not guaranteed, but Heatwave talents are considered for openings, showcases and partnered events.

Some activities include fees (e.g., showcases). Mix Series is unpaid but offers significant exposure and press assets. You will be clearly briefed in anything that requires work and is compensated and the amount of compensation

Sometimes, via partners, sponsors, studios, and our network.
